My Review:

When a movie such as this comes along, with its unlimited budget and starpower, I tend to raise the bar of expectations.  I would let some things slide in lesser movies, but this one pretty much maximizes my expectations.  The truth is:  I liked this movie.  The performances of the supporting cast were top-notch, especially Alan Rickman as the twisted Sheriff of Nottingham.  Because Kevin Costner gave such a wooden, robotic performance (as the lead character!), this movie was a CHARTER MEMBER of my worst films list but eventually was replaced by something worse.  If C3PO or the Terminator were cast as Robin Hood, they would have equalled the quality of Costner.  Costner should play roles where his looks and "aw, shucks" personality are the only requirements. Unfortunately, audiences will continue to plunk down millions of dollars to see Costner in dramatic roles where much, much more is required.
