My Review: |

This was a fairly interesting movie about a small-time thief being used to catch an evil genius responsible for robbing the gold reserve in New York City. Let me just say that in order to enjoy this movie, you have to be willing to ignore your sense of believability. There were a number of things about the plot that could have been better presented in order to help me feel better. I think this lack of attention to detail comes from the fact that this movie was confused to whether it was a comedy or an action film. I was watching it like an action film and that might have been a mistake.
I found myself thinking that the film had very well-produced action scenes. There were even a couple of great car chases thrown in. David Morse does an excellent job making the Department of Treasury look mean as he throws his badge around and takes teams of special forces agents every where he goes. Jamie Foxx is no Will Smith, but he definitely has some funny things to say while leaping from tall buildings. Doug Hutchison, I think made an excellent genius gone bad. All said, I’m glad I finally stopped passing this one by at the video store. |
