This movie was a bit disturbing. I’ve never been a big fan of movies about killers, but this one was supposed to be a suspense so I went. It didn’t take long at all for the violence to start. Though murders don’t usually bother me in movies, the scenes were extremely nasty and involved one of the bad guys holding a video camera on the murderer the whole time – this just didn’t sit right with me.
Aside from the eerie murder scenes, the plot was interesting and unexpected. The whole film seemed to be a statement about modern media and how it can be used for the wrong reasons. De Niro played his part very well and his character held my interest for much of the film. There were many twists and unexpected events right up to the end which kept me involved as the police tried to catch two attention-craved villains. As in any good suspense film, the tension drew to a climax as all of the main characters came together in the final scene. The ending was very cool and worth the wait.
Definitely not a kids movie. There is violence against women and nudity as well as lots of vulgarity. I get the directors point, but some things just shouldn’t be filmed. |
