You may want to bring a sleeping bag and a change of clothes to this one, because it goes on and on and on. I know it is only a little over 2 hours in length, but I felt like I spent an entire day in the movie theatre. You know how you feel after you take a long trip? When you get out of the car, you can barely stand up – your legs are sore and you feel physically exhausted even though you didn’t do anything. That’s how I felt after this movie. The movie actually was not that bad. It was well written and acted, but if it had been a few more minutes longer, I would have had to leave.
If you have ever seen the movie “Braveheart”, you may be able to relate. “Braveheart” was a great movie, but they did not know when to end it. By the end of the movie, all of the battle scenes were beginning to run together and I was hoping that everyone would die so there would be no one left to fight. I had the same feeling at the end of “Blow”, when Johnny Depp began setting up a team for one more drug run. I know it is based on a true story, but they did not have to make it feel like it was being told in real time.
The other PopcornPicks reviewers enjoyed “Blow” much more than I did. In fact, I was surprised that I was alone in my suffering. I guess they just have more patience than me. |
