With the cast that this movie had (all of the main characters were well known), I am surprised that it did not get more publicity when it was released. In fact, I never knew of it until I saw the movie at the video store. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait.
The movie had a straight forward story without a lot of twists and turns. It was not overly exciting, yet it held my attention from the beginning to the end. There was nothing unusual about the storyline and it did not require your undivided attention to keep up with it. Yet, I enjoyed it. Overall, I just felt like it was a well made movie. As critical as I am, I cannot think of any negative aspects to point out except that the title is not very relevant.
I think you will enjoy ÒWonder BoysÓ and I think you will enjoy the performances from actors that you recognize. However, every time I see Frances McDormand I expect her to talk the way she did in "Fargo". To me, she will always be Marge Gunderson. |
