It seems to me that movies based on good books do well. This one is definitely no exception. I really liked this movie for many reasons. The story was deep and well thought out like a good thriller should be. They took the time to build in plot twists and surprises that made the movie just plain exciting.
The actors did a great job in this movie. There were many times in the movie where I thought they were acting strangely. I blamed it on poor acting only to find out that it was related to the characters role! As a result, I find myself looking back through the scenes and picking up clues to their characters that the actors dropped perfectly all the way along. That kind of writing is always great to see.
I have to mention that this movie has by far the best car wreck scene that I have seen in it. Even though it was a bit fakey, I wanted to rewind and watch it again. I may rent the movie for this someday.
At the end of the movie I knew it was a 10. It satisfied me completely and I wasn’t able to think of anything that I would have liked them to do differently. In fact, I was able to continue to enjoy the film after it was over because of the excellent ending (it made a lot of things become clear). To me, a 10 is a movie that keeps me riveted – Along Came a Spider did just that. |
