After seeing the trailer for ÒO Brother, Where Art Thou?Ó several months ago, I couldnÕt wait to see it. It took me awhile to get around to catching it, but once I did, I really wasnÕt dissapointed. In fact, this movie was funnier, more interesting, and generally more entertaining than most movies IÕve seen. Leave it to the Coen Brothers (Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona) to put together a movie this different and entertaining!
This movie has everything I likeÉquirky characters, interesting dialogue, great laughs, and plenty of surprises. Plus the music! YouÕve got to see this movie for the music alone. The strangeness and silliness of the authentic bluegrass music is a perfect backdrop for the three escaped convicts as they go about their quest for treasure, finding freedom and friendship along the way.
IÕm a big George Clooney fan, ever since ER, so this was a natural pick for me, but as I said, the movie was much better than I expected. From my picks, you can see that I rarely give 9Õs, so I really donÕt think you can go wrong with this movie. |
