At one time, Jackie Chan said something concerning action movies of today being more about computers than action. Without giving anything away, he could have been talking about the first action scene in this film which was totally unrealistic. But, I tried not to let it bother me. I was sitting in my chair talking to myself saying “OK Doug. We are only two minutes into the movie. Block out that miserable display of computer technology and keep an open mind that it won’t happen again.” I was correct. That type of shotty computer action did not happen again, but there were plenty of other problems.
The movie was filled with too many impossible clues that would have never been discovered, convenient timings, and the like. There was just too much that kept me from every really getting into the story, or the characters. Overall, the acting, writing, and directing were not that bad. I just did not find myself enjoying the movie. Anyway, there will always be a new movie next weekend.
By the way, does anyone else think that Monica Potter looks like Julia Roberts at times. |
