I first saw this movie in 1990. After that, I probably saw the movie 10 or more times over the next few years. Without a doubt, it was one of my favorite movies of the early nineties (if not my favorite). Tonight I was flipping through the TV and saw that it was showing on The Comedy Channel, so I thought I would watch it again to see if the humor held up over the years. It did. I think I enjoyed it as much today as I did 10 years ago.
This is the type of movie Keanu Reeves should stick to. He seems to work much better in a role that does not require an excessive amount of acting skill. As for Alex Winter (Bill S. Preston Esquire), I don’t think I have seen him in anything since the Bill and Ted movies. There acting skills are about the same, but I suspect his looks were not enough to keep his acting career alive.
The humor is mindless, but amusing. I love all the historical characters. I love the way Bill and Ted get them to travel to the future. I love to watch their interactions with the modern day world. And, no matter how many times I watch, I always get excited at the ending. I even get a little tense like I don’t know what is going to happen.
If you have a goofy sense of humor (like me), you have probably already seen “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure”. If not, you should give it a try. And most importantly, PARTY ON DUDES! |
