I never had a desire to see this movie. - I did not see any previews for it. - I did not hear any reviews for it. - And, the VHS box was no help in convincing me to rent it. Yet, my fellow reviewers (Jill and Bob) liked it and recommended it. (This is why everyone should use me as their PopcornPal Ð just kidding.)
Maybe if you are a huge fan of dog shows, and know a little about the personalities of the people that participate in them, you could find this movie amusing. But, I doubt it. I found the characters to be annoying, rather than funny. The only role I enjoyed was the goofy dog show announcer who was paired up with an overly sophisticated sidekick. I even found myself laughing out loud at his comments. But, other than that, my laughter was caused by the shear absurdity of what I was watching. Watching this movie with my younger brother, we found ourselves laughing uncontrollably at times. Not because it was funny, but because it was so stupid and we were amazed that we were sitting through it.
I would say to avoid it, but Jill and Bob would disagree. (I would take MY word on it.) |
