Another win for Disney! Sitting in the theater, waiting for the movie to start, my fellow movie reviewers and I sat back and talked about which Disney movies we have seen, how many in the theater and which were our favorites. Although it does not rank up there with "The Lion King", "Bambi" or "Snow White" in my opinion, this movie still has tons of merit!
It was refreshing to see an animated film instead of another computer generated one (sorry Shrek!). It's amazing to think that each frame is hand drawn - especially with the "effects" in this movie.
The plot was simple, but easy to follow for the younger crowd, but had a lot going on for the parents and older patrons. You could see resemblences of Star Wars or 20,000 Leagues under the Sea in different parts.
I most enjoyed trying to pick out the voices for each character. Michael J. Fox was an easy one for the lead (Milo Thatch) but can you pick out Leonard Nimoy? or Father Guido Sarducci?
This isn't just a kid's movie - everyone who's a fan of Disney classics will enjoy it! |
