I lost the coin toss with my wife so we rented this movie about a wedding planner who thought she had everything under control until she falls for a groom from a wedding sheÕs planning. I shuddered as I read the back of the box on the way home. Of course, I was at least excited to see that Jennifer Lopez was in the movie.
About 10 minutes into the movie, my fears of a painful experience subsided and I began to enjoy myself. The movie overall was funny and kind of light. You canÕt really expect the plot to be overly believable or you might be disappointed. There were parts where I had to remind myself that it was a comedy so I didnÕt get annoyed that the situations were overly exaggerated. There were even a few scenes that I had seen before in other movies and I hate that.
I thought J-Lo did a great job playing a control freak losing her control. She did a much better job in this kind of role than someone like Sandra Bullock would have, I think. She has a really unique style of acting that I thought was refreshing.
In the final analysis, I was glad we watched it. The humor was good for the most part and I thought end was cool. This will go into my ÒWatch it with your wife or girlfriend, get bonus points for being sensitive and still get some laughsÓ category. |
