Anyone who saw the trailer for this movie and knows me would have told you that I would love this movie. I knew it was going to be good when the opening credits were in HTML! I was right, it was good.
The movie had lots of things that I love to see Š twisting plot, high technology, good characters and good sound. There was just a few things that bothered me about the believability, so I couldnÕt give it a 9 like I wanted to at first.
The plot was very cool and I could really get into the main characterÕs emotions (being a computer geek myself). Even though much of the film included deep tech concepts, I think they did a great job making it understandable to a general audience. I think most people that own or work with computers will grasp the concepts that are needed in order to follow along. For those of you that are into computers a little more than most people, they threw in some little twists that only you will laugh at.
I really enjoyed the way they made up a giant computer company named NURV and gave it a CEO that was strikingly similar to Bill Gates. They actually toyed quite a bit with the emotional side of a corporate giant like Bill and tried to show what it might be like to deal with being so important. It was also cool to see him give a tour of his home where he displayed a lot of amazing technology. If you ever wanted to know what Bill Gates home was like, this is probably a good example (you can see the real thing at www.usnews.com/usnews/nycu/tech/billgate/gates.htm).
This movie was fresh and exciting. Bottom line, I think youÕll enjoy it whether you are a geek or not. This is a cool way to get a glimpse of what itÕs like for those of us who are obsessed with computers. |
