I have to admit - if you put Robert DeNiro in a movie - it's pretty much a sure bet that I will enjoy it. If you put Ed Norton in a movie - it's also a sure bet I will like it...but Brando? Boy, is it just me, or is this guy looking really bad??? You could hear him huffing and puffing from just taking a few steps! You could also see the heavy makeup that he was wearing. He's gone down hill from his "Streetcar Named Desire" and "On the Waterfront" days... But I digress...
It was cool to see Brando and DeNiro together (for the first time since the "Godfather" movies). I also enjoyed Ed Norton's character, very reminecent of his role in "Primal Fear". I really enjoyed the chemistry between all of the characters. But the real treat was Jamie Harrold, who played the geeky computer genius that helps DeNiro's character throughout the movie.
This movie was a solid "7" in my book - a good story with a few minor glitches (I'm still not quite sure why Angela Bassett was in this movie - she plays DeNiro's girlfriend - but that's about all you know) But I had to bump this film up to an "8" during the last 20 minutes. The suspense was incredible - and...well, that's all i'm going to tell you! If I say anymore, I'll ruin it! You should just go and see it for yourself! |
