"Battlefield Earth" Ð the movie considered by many to be the worst movie ever made Ð was every bit as good as ÒPlanet of the ApesÓ. In fact, although I gave them both a rating of 5, I would place ÒBattlefield EarthÓ higher on the list. The original ÒPlanet of the ApesÓ was a few years ahead of my time when I was growing up, so I never had a real interest in watching it. Now IÕm glad I didnÕt because it forced the new version to stand on its own. As a stand alone film, I felt that it was a mid level sci-fi/action movie without the proper attention given to the details.
This movie also marked the second film in which I saw Estella Warren (Daena). In my opinion she is one of the worst (if not the worst) actresses in Hollywood. Plus, I do not find anything remotely appealing about her. Despite one of my fellow reviewers telling me that Òif you donÕt find her attractive, you are absolutely homosexualÓ, I know beauty when I see it. And, I donÕt see it when sheÕs on the big screen.
This movie was not a waste of money, but there is no need to get caught up in the hype and rush to see it. If you do watch it, I recommend you watch ÒBattlefield EarthÓ as well. |
