Well, this is another case where the hype was too much for the movie. I thought there would be much more to the film than there was. For such a blockbuster, there were just some oversights and annoyances that just shouldn't have been there.
The movie did have some good qualities, like the great job the actors did convincing me that they were apes and the awesome scenery and costumes that were used. I can't imagine the studying that they must have done to make the apes believable. Totally cool.
In general, I just thought they could have paid a little more attention to detail when it came to the plot. I can't get into movies that have holes in their plot. That, combined with the last 20 minutes of the movie are what made me rate it a 6.
This movie is worth watching, but I wouldn't wait in line for it. |
