My Review:

I gave this movie the same rating as Roger Ebert – a “three”.  The only difference is that his rating is out of “four”, while mine is out of “ten”.

I’m not sure what he saw in it, because “Save the Last Dance” is a giant piece of crap!  It’s a story about Sara – a girl on the verge of getting into Julliard for her ballet abilities, yet when she hears hip hop she looses all ability to keep a simple beat.  I’m sure she was supposed to look confused when trying this new style of dance, but holy overacting!  Unless of course the music was just so bad that it was messing with her mind.  Yeah – maybe that’s it.  Even so, the most uncoordinated goofball at the local nightclub can move to the beat of the music (most of the time).

I really have nothing positive to say about the movie.  The plot was dumb, the language was painful, and the acting was shotty.  It’s only a three because I hated the movies I rated as ones and twos even more.  Recommendation - AVOID.
