I wasn't overly excited to see this film to begin with. I don't know why. Maybe because I lost the "hype-feel" by not seeing it right away. Or maybe I realized, after seeing several great movies, that this one just wasn't going to compare. I don't know - but my hunch was right!
At first, I really thought I was going to be wrong - the movie started out, I was laughing and enjoying myself. Billy Bob Thornton was definitely the sceen-stealer! He was the best part of the movie! Bruce Willis was a close second. But then, the worst thing possible happened...a love-interest. I'm not saying that Kate Blanchet wasn't funny! She was - but I didn't think she blended well with the other characters or the story for that matter. She ruined it for me, unfortunately.
I still found a lot of humor in the movie, and the ending saved it all! But I wonder how many other people out there were disappointed in the middle, like I was. |
