I don't know what it is about Bruce Willis (Joe Blake) movies. I don't think that I've ever disliked one, and "Bandits" is better than most of his movies. He wasn't even memorable in this one. Billy Bob Thornton (Terry Lee Collins) stole the show as the brainy, neurotic, hypochondriac. Overall, the movie is witty and funny, but the best part is the ending. No, not because it was finally over (it did feel like a long movie). You won't see it coming until it puts the "SmackDown!" on you.
Other than the sentient length, the interactions between Kate Wheeler (Cate Blanchett), Joe, and Terry became exceedingly annoying. Conflict had to be manufactured, right? Although Kate plays an integral part, this annoyance probably contributed to its sentient length. |
