| For me, the appeal of Forrest Gump (the character) is that he represents a pure innoncence and honesty of which we should hope to aspire. Most of the movie is told in flashback and follows the colorful life of an ordinary man who has many extraordinary accomplishments. Hanks' portrayal of Forrest is at times touching, funny, serious, and heartwarming. He not only explores the full-range of the human condition, he does it remarkably, almost indescribably, well. Hanks truly gives one of the greatest perfomances of all time and is very deserving of the Academy Award he received. If you haven't seen it, SEE IT! If you have seen it, you won't grow tired of seeing it again and again. |
