Let me just preface this review by saying - I will own this movie - along with all of them in the series! (Thank you, Jodi for showing me the Harry Potter way!)
Director Chris Columbus did exactly what J.K. Rowling had wanted (and why she turned down so many other movie studios before Warner Bros.) - he made this movie true to the book. There was nothing in this movie that made you think "man, that isn't what I read" or "I never pictured that!". Everything in that movie was exactly as I had pictured it when I read "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". For you muggles that have read the book - I don't need to explain anything to you. For those muggles that have no clue what or who Harry Potter is - you're in for a real treat!
Harry Potter (played by a very convincing Daniel Radcliffe) is a boy who find out, on his 11th birthday, that he is a wizard. He is invited to attend Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. On his trip there he meets Ron Weasley and Hermione (pronounced Her-MINEY) and that's where the adventures start. All the actors were wonderful! I can't wait for the second installment is finished next year!
If I was a Harry Potter fan before, I am now a Harry Potter fanatic! |
