My Review:

Johnny Depp (Dean Corso) is, perhaps, the greatest risktaker when it comes to choosing his roles.  He tends to select those roles that are outside the mainstream or pictures that are outside the mainstream.  I guess that it's his way of adhering to his creative principles (whatever they may be.)

When one takes big risks, big rewards can be the outcome.  (If you need a further explanation, please see Summer Catch.)  The flipside would be big disappointments.  As a horror film, it lacks horror.  As a thriller, it lacks thrills.  As a mystery, it lacks mystery.  As a ... (you get the idea).  It's not even very creepy or weird.

Although the subject matter is outside the mainstream, it delivers about as much as mainstream movies.
