This movie overwhelmed me - what a wonderfully touching story about love.
How could anyone give this movie a bad review? I guess some critics just don’t know what they are talking about. I thought the range of talent the actors showed in this film was top notch. Plus, Sean Penn gave the performance of his life as Sam Dawson. Regardless of what people might say about him, no one else could have portrayed this role better (sorry Dustin Hoffman!)
This movie had me at minute one - from laughing hysterically to sobbing uncontrollably. I went through 6 tissues in the course of the 2 hour film. I probably could have gone through more – had I had more!
Michelle Pfeiffer was wonderful as the attorney that helps Sam try and win back the daughter who was taken away by social services. As for newcomer Dakota Fanning (who plays Sam's daughter, Lucy), she will melt your heart with those big blue eyes!
If you are a Beatles fan, you will get a kick out of all the references and music renditions of the Fab 4! The soundtrack is definitely worth picking up! (If you catch it in the beginning, Lucy's name is Lucy Diamond Dawson...get it?)
My recommendation: Do NOT miss this film! |
