I am starting to appreciate independent films more and more. The quality of the movie is not in the special effects, but in the writer's ability and the imagination of the director. Amelie is a great film in both respects. It follows the life of a french girl (Amelie) describing her childhood up to the age of 23. At this age we learn a lot about Amelie - where she works, who she interacts with, how she finds the one she loves and how she meets him, etc. It's just an enjoyable film.
For those of you who don't know - this is a french subtitled movie. If you've never seen a subtitled film, this might be a good one to start with. The story is interesting and it's very visual. |
