I was definitely disappointed by this movie. From the trailers, I was expecting a psychological thriller, but instead I got a plot that centered around a spaceship crash on an alien planet inhabited by killer alien birds (guess I should've read the box).
The only way I was able to get enjoyment from this movie was to put myself in Sci-Fi mode and take a very forgiving attitude when it came to believability.
Oh, and who could forget the convict that agrees to help the stranded crew survive in exchange for freedom? Hats off to the guy that picked Vin Diesel to play this character. He was perfect. In fact, I owe several of my kernels to his performance.
Bottom line, if you are looking for an alien movie, this one's worth renting but go in with low hopes and you should be happy. |
