My Review:

For me, this was the first movie of the young 2002 season that I couldnÕt wait to see.  From the moment I first saw the prehistoric squirrel and his battle with the acorn, I was hooked.  Although I thought the scene was still funny after seeing it a million times in previews, I didnÕt expect it to be the best one in the movie Ð regrettably it was.

ÒIce AgeÓ was a meager movie that left me a little disappointed due to the eagerness by which I waited.  John Leguizamo (Sid the Sloth) and Denis Leary (Diego the Sabertooth) were both excellent in their roles, yet I think Ray Romano was a terrible choice for Manfred the Mammoth.  I like Ray Romano is his TV show ÒEverybody Loves RaymondÓ, but his nasally, unmanly voice was less than a perfect fit for a woolly mammoth.  To be effective, that character needed to be played by someone with a powerful voice like James Earl Jones.

It seems, as of late, that everything I watch falls under the 5/6 rating.  This means the movie is OK, but nothing to get excited about.  Unfortunately, ÒIce AgeÓ is one more for this category.
