This movie falls along the same lines of the Disney and Pixar movies that have come before (Shrek and Monsters, Inc) however, it is missing something that the others had -i'm just not sure what it is!
Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed the entire 2 hour film, but it just didn't hit me like Shrek did.Maybe because I thought it was too much like "The Lion King" at least in parts I felt this way. But, I will say, that the animation was incredible! They've come a long way from the cartoons I grew up with!
I have to say that I really enjoyed John Leguizamo as Sid the Sloth! He kept me giggling throughout the movie. But the best role was the silent one played by the prehistoric squirrel and his nut!
It's a great movie to go see with your family, but I would still recommend checking out Shrek if you haven't already! |
