Every kid growing up dreams of one day being and astronaut. OK, well maybe I didn't. Actually, I get sick on the Ferris Wheel - but that's not the point. Without the courage of astronauts like Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, Sr., and Jack Swigert, where would we be today. Well, I guess we would be in exactly the same place as we are now - but that's not the point either...
Apollo 13 has established a firm position on my list of favorite movies. The acting of Tom Hanks (Jim Lovell), Ed Harris (Gene Krantz) and Gary Sinse (Ken Mattingly) only added to the perfectly written script and the exceptional direction of Ron Howard.
This movie just makes you feel good. Watching people work as a team with a never-say-die attitude is the way we all wish are jobs could be. (It almost seems like fiction) |
