I expected this to be a little better than it was. "High Crimes" is an average at best drama/thriller that's carried by the combined strength of Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman. To me, it seemed like it was cobbled together from parts of many other good movies, like "The Presidio", "A Few Good Men", "No Way Out", certain Tom Clancy stories, and several other movies that I couldn't remember the names of.
Although it was somewhat entertaining, I didn't find it to be very believable. And in a movie like this, you expect plot twists. But the twists in this movie were neither clever nor taken with any skill.
In general, I didn't mind "High Crimes", but I've definitely seen better films in this genre. |
