I got a kick out of this modern adaptation of the old Invisible Man story. Kevin Bacon's character was well developed early on so when he snapped after taking the experimental serum to turn invisible, I bought it. This movie gets you to think about what you would do if you were invisible.
Also, I love movies that use technology for special effects and I’d love to find out how they did the graphics in this movie. Special Effects lovers will want to pay attention when they show humans and animals appearing and disappearing. They even threw in a pretty decent explosion. This definitely raised my rating some.
I found myself wondering how they filmed the scenes with Kevin Bacon in them. After all, it would be hard to act in a movie where you were invisible for 90% of the time. I thought the actors did a wonderful job making it as real as possible. Although, some scenes came across as a bit hokey. Toward the end, I also felt a bit like I was watching a “scary movie” type of film as they rolled out the blood and guts.
Another thing you should know is that this is NOT a kids movie! There were many very explicit scenes (mostly upper-body nudity), lots of foul language and violence. I was glad I had put my baby in bed before we watched this. |
