I went in expecting to see a movie along the lines of ÒAmericaÕs SweetheartsÓ Ð a sappy, sometimes funny, romantic comedy. I wasnÕt quite expecting a laugh-out-loud, girls prancing around in underwear, slapstick comedy, along the lines of ÒAmerican Pie." Actually, these lovely ladies are only a notch or two up the intelligence ladder from the boys in ÒDude, WhereÕs My Car?Ó. But, they were every bit as funny Ð maybe more so.
ÒThe Sweetest ThingÓ is a very funny and mindless movie. It doesnÕt try to fool you into thinking itÕs anything sophisticated (although the trailer may be a little misleading), but if you liked the other movies mentioned for comparison, youÕll like this one too. |
