From the start of this movie, I felt like the cast just didnŐt fit the roles of this movie. I couldnŐt really buy into the fakey bad attitude of the main character. I also was not impressed at all with the performance of Gene Hackman. His character seemed to wobble between a strong rigid commander and a weak pushover. The movie had a strange mix of off the hip ad-libs and intense action scenes. Things just didnŐt seem to flow. All of this combined with a hero that just canŐt die made the story a hard one for me to swallow.
You just have to give too much to enjoy this movie. Try We Were Soldiers or Enemy at the Gates if you are looking for a good war hero movie. |
