As astonishing and precisely accurate as war movies have become today, anything less is unacceptable. Stories like ÒBlack Hawk DownÓ and ÒSaving Private RyanÓ take every effort to capture history in its purist form and allow us to live the horrors of war from the safe confines of our theatre seat with an icy Coke at our side.
ÒBehind Enemy LinesÓ decided on a different approach. The enemy had the shooting skills of the A-Team and the tracking ability of prepubescent Cub Scouts, while the war-rookie American was given the evading aptitude of Rambo and the knack for sensing danger that is usually only afforded to the wild animals of nature.
Together, this all made for a pretty far fetched, less than believable, anti-thrill ride, that is sure to disappoint. |
