Opening night of a much anticipated movie - the tension rises as the beginning starts... and you know? I never lost that feeling of anticipation the entire movie! It was just as I had imagined, but better! The cheesiness of the comic book comes shining through and I loved it!
The adaptation of Stan Lee's classic comic book was as good as any other movie of it's kind, if not better!
Tobey McGuire, who at first I had worries about playing "spidey", was an excellent choice! He mastered the art of the comic book hero's style, in my opinion. Kirsten Dunst plays "MJ" - spidey's love interest - with believability. The two, I felt, had a real chemistry going on.
Now - how can I describe the acting talents of Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin? No one else could have played this role! He's practically a cartoon character himself! His portrayal of the Goblin as he is being dragged down by his insanity, was so thrilling to watch - and those evil, EVIL eyes that send chills down your spine with one glance... that's a true comic book villian!
I highly recommend seeing this film on the big screen to get the true effects! I'm excited for the 2nd and 3rd installments of this hero's life! |
