The first thing I have to say is, it's a shame that this movie was slated to be released the same weekend as Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones. Many people will miss out on this wonderfully scripted and acted film!
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. Hugh Grant was superb as a single man who couldn't be bogged down with relationships, etc. As his movie character, Will, states "I am an Island!" Until he meets a young boy, Marcus, through his attempt to date single moms. Marcus quickly becomes a fixture in Will's life -whether he likes it or not. But one thing is for sure - the audience will love it! This movie is filled with humor as well as heart-felt scenes. An added bonus is the fact that it's one British movie that you can understand what EVERYONE is saying!
Do yourself a favor and see this movie. It is SO much more than a cutesy movie - and definitely not just a "chick flick!" |
