The acting was good, the premise was good, but the story was a little drawn out. This is my take on Insomnia. In some spots I could feel my eyes closing -but that could have been from all the talk of sleep deprivation and the fact that even though the sun never set in Nightmute, Alaska - the scenes were all very dark.
Al Pacino gave a great performance as the cop investigating a murder in Alaska. Hilary Swank was not that memorable. However, I will tell you, seeing Robin Williams in a completely serious role as the killer, was just a little too creepy! I much rather see him in stand up! Don't get me wrong - he was VERY GOOD -but I prefer him acting like an idiot!
Overall, this movie wasn't bad -but it was lacking something - maybe if I sleep on it, I will be able to figure out what it is! |
