After a 5 week hiatus, brought about by the motion picture studios' inability to produce a film that sparked my slightest interest, the popcornpicks posse was back at the big screen. Back to watch a man, once a comedic actor, now a three-in-a-row luny.
"One hour Photo" managed to keep me interested, but it may have been more the excitement of once again walking on sticky floors and the smell of fake butter, then the story unfolding before me. Robin Williams did a fine job, but it wasn't the astonishing performance that tabloid critics would have you believe. Overall, I felt the story could have been (excuse the pun) more developed. They waited too long to fill me in on the reasons for the goings-on. Almost as though it was an "ah-ha" experience after they finished writing the story. As in, they discovered that critical plot features were missing. Then again, maybe my movie watching senses have slowed during my period of disassociation. In any event, I was happy to see a movie again. |
