"...This movie is about as corrupt, intellectually bankrupt and morally dishonest as it could possibly be..." This quote was taken from Roger Ebert's review for "The Life of David Gale." Morally dishonest?? Who cares?!?! Since when are movie critics supposed to rate on hell's fire and damnation. Roger should stick to the things that are important in a movie like the quality of acting. Oh wait, he Did. Here's another quote. "The acting in The Life of David Gale is splendidly done..." Yet, he gave the movie zero stars. I don't know folks, but I think it's time he calls it quits. He's spent one too many hours in a theatre if he can rate this movie 2 stars lower than the Blair Witch sequel.
As for my review, I'm not to the level of enjoyment that Jillbert obtained. I thought it was a good movie, but I'm caught between ratings once again. The acting was good and the story held my interest throughout it's longer than average running time. So, to counteract the zero, I'm rounding up. |
