This sequel could have gone either way. I figured they would either release a second angels movie that fixed the shortcomings in the first one and make it better, or that they would focus on all the wrong things and put out a stupid sequel. It seems that they did the latter.
Though the movie was generally entertaining, it certainly wasn't where it could have been. I think my biggest complaint was that it seemed like they didn't take the movie seriously. The stunts were completely unbelievable to the point of being silly and they even ripped off effects from the matrix. The movie wavered between attempting to build emotion and being just plain outrageous.
Overall, I think this is a rental at best, sorry Charlie. |
