| I usually don't dig this kind of movie-at least 4 plot lines are running in parallel until they converge at the end. There are also some theatrical effects that have been employed (scenes shot through filtered lenses, "NYPD Blue" camera angles, discontinuous action, you get the idea) for some deep, philosophical allegory that is lost on the audience. For some reason, the summation of these elements did not distract me from liking this movie. Although I found the movie initially distasteful, by the end, I was quite intrigued by the intrigue. Even though I am highly intelligent and educated, it challenged me to keep track of all of the information. Yes, EVEN I missed some of the connections. I wouldn't mind seeing this movie again to gain a better understanding of each plot and to enhance my own appreciation of the work. My advice for the less gifted and pedestrian: don't tax your simple minds with the cerebral calisthenics that is this movie. Go see "Sack Lunch" instead (a Seinfeldian reference for the less gifted and pedestrian.) |
