| I remember watching the first one and thinking that despite the ridiculous premise the suspense carried through the movie was enjoyable. The preview for this one promised more of the same. In general, I think they delivered, but with a few quirks that made it less enjoyable for me. The main difference was the increased amount of senseless gore. I am of the more conservative school where you show the suggestion that someone's arm gets torn off rather than allowing the viewer to see the protruding bone. There were many scenes where I felt they went way over the edge in this category. Secondly, I thought the plot was well planned, but that they tried too hard to tie this movie to the first one. They could have had a bit less effort and still allowed things to work with the new cast. These things made for a worse film the second time around. |
