I really wanted to see House of Sand and Fog, because I had heard so many good things about the story and about the acting. As much as I agree that it was a well-made movie with exceptional acting by Sir Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connelly - I wish I would have read a brief description of the movie before going to see it. I was not prepared for watching the downer movie of the year!
As I stated previously - I thought it was well made. The story flowed well and the character development was there, but it wasn't the type of story that sucked me in - unfortunately I don't think there was a happy minute in the entire movie! Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind to see it. All I have to say is, when you go to see this, or go to rent this, it's an Indie film! Sometimes that's all you need to say for people to go "oh - I get it!" It wasn't that I disliked this film, I thought it was very powerful, but it wasn't what I was in the mood to see. |
