I enjoy films that dramatize historic events or, as in this case, famous literary
writings. In particular, I enjoyed how this film told the story from a unique view
point - that of Achilles. I thought the casting was very good and the acting was above
average. This helped the whole thing feel real to me. Mix that with great visual effects
and lots of battle action and you?ve got a winner in my book. I even enjoyed getting a
glimpse at these ancient men?s religion and how it influenced their decision making and
life choices.
Some memorable scenes for me came first at the very beginning of the movie when two
armies agree to settle their war with the fight of their single best warriors and then
later getting to see what the Trojan horse might have looked like. Parents beware; there
is some unwarranted nudity in Achilles tent on several occasions. |
